The elevator pitch is an important part of the change communication process as it allows key information to be easily communicated to those affected by the change. A good elevator speech contains the following elements:
- It tells a story – “We can’t stay here because...”
- Provides direction – what’s in it for me and what do you want me to do?
- Avoids jargon -The information should relate to your audience, so they can easily absorb it
- It's been tested – if your family understands it, and remembers it, you’re off to a good start
